With My Family

1.  Apartment in Cicero, IL  (2 bedroom we lived there until I was 5 yrs old – right around the corner from my grandmothers house)

 

2.  My parents bought their first house in Cicero, IL (It was a nice 2 story with a full basement – you can even see the Sears Tower Building from it!)

 

3.  When we moved to TN we rented a “Rock House” in Frankewing, TN (this was my favorite house of all time!  My parents wanted to buy it but it needed a lot of repairs and the landlord wanted too much Money)

 

4.  Red house in Pulaski, TN (This house was cook it was actually 2 small houses next to each other.)

 

5.  Trailer in Frankewing, TN (Very close to where my dad lives now)  This is the last place I lived with my family before I moved out!

 

On My Own (I moved out in Aug 1999) 

1.  Round House in Johnson City, TN (This was definitely a memorable apartment – it looked like a ski lodge or something – Lots of great memories!!)  I mainly lived here alone with Thumper for 2 years, although Ashlee stayed with me for a while and Stef lived with me for about 3 months before moving into our place together.

 

2.  House on Carrville in Johnson City, TN – With Stef, Thumper, and Oliver the cat.  Lots of great times here (Memories:  Cooking Thanksgiving Dinner; New years eve party; snake in the bedroom!)

 

3.  Trailer in Antioch, TN  - with Clara, Jesse and Icki (while completing my intern at Vanderbilt University)

 

4.  Kingsport, TN – Everett’s house  (while completing my last semester at ETSU)  Everett actually went on a travel assignment and I lived there alone from March – May;  Very creepy basement!!

 

5.  Apartment above the garage of the funeral home in Pulaski, TN with Nelson (stayed for about 8 months while getting a job and saving money for my own place after finishing college)

 

6.  Duplex on Highland Ave in Pulaski, TN (rented by myself but then my grandma moved in with me).  This place had an awesome backyard!!

 

7.  In an apartment in Antioch, TN (moved in with Katherine then at the end of our lease Jenny B moved in).  Great Pool and very close to downtown!! Plus I had my own bathroom!!

 

8.  Apartment in  Cicero, IL – With my grandma (while I found a job and saved money for my own place)

 

9.  My current apartment Worth, IL (Danny & I live there together and will more than likely be resigning another 1 year lease while we save money and look for a house/condo/townhouse)

 

OK so this explains why I am planning on buying a place next year!! I am tired of moving!!!

It’s Amazing how quickly people grow up.

Steven is in town visiting from Georgia.  I was able to visit with him yesterday!
I had such a great time!!  I can’t believe he is 21 though!! I remember when he was a baby!! I guess that makes me feel old. 

 

The cool thing about him visiting here was I spent a lot of 1 on 1 time with him.  I love going to GA and visiting but there are so many people to see that I feel like I don’t really get to visit with anyone!!

 

Well we had a great time!   Thanks Steven for hanging with me!!

 

Today the weather is really crappy here.  They say we are under a Tornado watch!! UGH!!  Of course you know what that means?  People can’t DRIVE!!  Why is it when the streets get a little wet everyone forgets how to drive?  I can’t figure it out!

 

Oh and the best way to start off the weekend is with an increase in gas prices!!  By my house it is not $4.25 a gallon for the cheap stuff!!  Are you kidding me?? I put $20 in my gas tank and that leaves me with less than ½ a tank!!  I don’t know how I’m going to make it this summer!!

Going back to work has made me realize the things I did and did not miss!!

Traffic…it takes me about an hour to drive 24 miles!!
Gas prices:  $4.19 a gallon here!!
Getting up early!!
Seeing Danny!! We are on opposite schedules now I feel like I never see or talk to hthis

So since I am still very new here and don’t know many people I have been eating most of my lunches alone.  This has actually been a good thing.   Since so much has been going on in my life its nice to eat in peace and People Watch!!

I’m noticing that a ton of people here eat frozen lofat lunches (aka: Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones..etc).  So today at a table near me 2 ladies heated up their lean cuisines and sat them on the table then then walked away and came back with a heaping plate of salad and other things from the cafeteria.  Now I know salad is very nutritious but why not just eat the salad? Why spoil the low calorie meal by piling on salad dressing?  I don’t get it.  When I worked for the State of TN there was a girl who would drink slimfast with her meal!!  Umm HELLO for some reason she didn’t understand that she was using it to supplement what she was already eating instead of replacing it!!  Hmm I wonder why was it she gained weight?? HAHA

Our dresscode here is very laid back business casual & Jeans on Fridays.  For the most part people are dressing appropriately but there are a few things that have caught my eye:
1) a lady with her boob completely hanging out.  I’m not talking showing a little cleavage.  Her shirt was so tight and the girls were popping out so much that you could actually see the wrinkles!! Come on people!! We aren’t at a club!!

2) a lady dressed in complete black from head to ankle because she was wearing WHITE shoes??  I don’t get that why wear all black and then think it’s ok to put on what shoes?? Isn’t that just as bad as wearing all black except white socks??

Ok So I am a slacker, but hey I’m sure most of you guys already know this!!

So a recap of last month!!

 

Let’s see I finally received a job offer!! I started working on 5/5/08 for a University where my role is an Admission Advisor!!  This is only my second week but I am enjoying it very much!  Everyone I work with is extremely nice!!

 

On a more depressing note this last few weeks has been extremely hard!
Danny’s Father:  Thomas Brennan passed away on April 16, 2008.  He was an amazing man who raised a wonderful family of 8!  RIP Tom.

This really hit home for me.  I think knowing how Danny & his siblings must be feeling. 

His father was very ill and had been suffering for quite some time.  He told Danny a few days before he passed away about how much pain he was in!!  Of course this doesn’t make the loss any easier. 

Last week on May 6, 2008 my Aunt Passed away.  RIP Sandra Sanders –  I Will Miss you Greatly!!  She had been fighting Leukemia for roughly 6 years and was really sick over the last year!  Her Brother donated Bone Marrow and she had a transplant in December.  The sad part is the leukemia was gone!!  But other complications arose and she was suffering greatly.  It’s great to think she is in a better place but very hard to know that you will never see her again, laugh with her, hug her.  She was truly a wonderful & Fun Aunt.  One of the things I remember most about her is the birthday cards she sent.  Every year I would receive a birthday Card for my birthday, it was always humorous and signed in a number of different colors. 

 

My Dad, Many & Brayden, Wendy & Jeremy were in over the weekend for my Aunts funeral.  As always it was very nice to see them and hang out!!  Wendy is definitely showing (she’s pregnant in case anyone did not know!)  She is expecting a little girl in September!!  That’s all my family needs is another girl!!  I’m excited for them and hope that everything continues to go well!! 

 

The last few weeks I have been kinda down. I guess with all the things I had already listed above and knowing that my birthday and the birthdays of many of my friends were soon.  I do miss my family!! I am pretty used to being away from them for my birthday but I usually am surrounded by friends!  I have been very lonely and wishing definitely missing my ETSU Friends.  I do speak with a few of them regularly but I would give anything to hang out!!  We should totally plan a trip to meet in JC and have a reunion!!

 

So guess what?? I’m 30!!!  

Yesterday I celebrated my 30^th birthday!! 

I was planning on having dinner with my Aunt Dar, Sabrina, and her kids (Dominic, Markos, Isabella, and Adriano).  When I arrived my aunt said she was too tired to cook so we were going to eat Pizza!! To my surprise when I arrived at the restaurant there were many family members waiting to celebrate with me!  Those who were there:  Aunt Terry, Uncle Dan, Chrissy, Aunt Diana, Mike, Mary & Michael, Uncle Howard, Tommy, Aunt Diane & Uncle Lloyd!  It truly made for a wonderful birthday!!  Thanks to all who attended and made my 30^th Birthday Wonderful!! 

 

So I guess this is enough for now. I should actually do some work!

Hopefully with work and other things going on I will actually have interesting things to write about for the future!! I will do my best to Update Regularly!!

 

Congratulations to Jamie and Josh Davis on the birth of their baby girl (name to come when I’m sure to have the correct spelling). 

She was born on 4/9/2008  7 lbs 5 ozs 19 inches long!!

Besides that not too much to report.  I have still be interviewing a lot.  I really want this one job. I should know by Friday if they plan to make me an offer.  Everyone say a little prayer and keep your fingers crossed for me.

 

So I know I’m disappointing all my readers (at least 1 that I know I can name!!).

I’m sorry I haven’t written more I just don’t have anything to say.  Of course I could complain about being unemployed and how much the company I worked for sucks and how they are appealing my unemployment again and I have to do another hearing!! But come on do you guys really want to hear that?

I hope everyone had a great Easter.  Mine was definitely cool, of course I ate way too much.  We had Brunch with Danny’s family and then dinner at my brothers.  Here are some of the pictures I took:

I am going to be out looking for jobs most of the week. I have already applied to Walmart, Target, Lowes, Sam’s Club, Walgreens.  Geez it looks like fast food places are going to be next for me!!  I should feel like I’m back in highschool again!

Yesterday I had an interview.  Unfortunately in the mist of applying for 50 jobs this week I have completely confused myself. 

 I thought the interview was with a known insurance company for a Case Manager but when I arrived it was a group informational interview (never really a good thing)!  It was a totally different company that was a subcompany of the one I thought I was interviewing with.  The position was a Sales position going to houses of Senior Citizens and selling them Medicare supplement plans.   So yeah to be eligible I would have to get an insurance license in the state of IL which would total about $500 up front!!

Look people if you want somene to do Sales please don’t call me.  I’ve been there and done that and it’s not really my thing. 

On a more positive note I did have a few other potential employers reply to my resume and ask me questions!! YAY!!

 Keep your fingers crossed I’m going to hit the websites and see what’s new today!!

OK I have a simple question,  What teh HELL do unemployed people do all day?

I am so bored these days!!  How much TV can a person watch, how many hours on the internet can someone spend in a day?  I don’t want to watch tv.. I haven’t found any great projects to occupy my time.  Although I do have some scrapbooking I could be doing, I guess I should just get motivated.

 For those of you who do not know I was let go from my job on Jan 21st.  The crazy part is that I took off 3 days for my Great-Grandmothers funeral and upon returning I was let go.  Apparently I have poor attendance.   Oh well enough about that since it’s over and done.  I guess the company really did me a favor anyways.  The office was going downhill due to the ‘car sales man’ new boss we had.

 So I am on week 4 of being unemployed.  I have my 3rd interview scheduled for tomorrow.  Hopefully I can land a fulltime position with this company.  They are known nationwide and are in the healthcare field.  Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me.

 I keep thinking I am doing something wrong?? I have applied to every online website, private company webpages, and everything.  The only calls I seem to be getting are for recruiting and sales positions.  Which is not at all what I am looking for. 

Does anyone have any advice as to how I can find not only a job but a career???

Ok so that’s all my griping for tonight.
